Road to Recovery

Well... I finally went to the doc last FR and got antibiotics and something over the counter, however still feel not 100% :(. I should've gone earlier... but I'm on my way... 

Additionally Zoe's horrible three's arrived and we're dealing with a few things here and there that cost a lot of energy to be calm and trying to mange the situation with a good way. Supernanny helps :)... I started watching it again here and there so I can get some tips on how to manage things the best way and I had great success. She's so much fun and it's so sad to see these outbreaks every now and then but I guess we have to go through it. Just costs a lot of energy on my part... 

On the other token we had two date nights in a row last week *YEAH*. That was so awesome... we really enjoyed the time together.

Bjoern came to visit us on Sunday, we're having a good time but still haven't gone out a lot yet due to the very cold weather which will be hard with the kids and my sickness. But we're starting through now and on the top of our list is: Shopping :)...

IKEA yesterday... the kids had a blast. We're looking for a new mattress for Zoe, she's complaining her bed it too small!!! She finds excuses over excuses not to go to bed but hey, she needs a new bed anyways... it's time for her to move out of her 'crib' size bed

Starbucks rocks :)... but to be honest with you. My coffee + cafe latte taste way better than theirs :). I grind my beans fresh and with my newly repaired espresso machine I can rock the best coffee ever *YUM*

Oh well... we've been sick for weeks almost. We've made it to music class last week but that was about the only thing we did besides celebrating Zoe's birthday. THU we went to the Doctor to check on the kids and make sure it's nothing serious. Henry got a little medicine that made his lungs breath a little easier since he was a little more congested than Zoe and him being younger etc.. I was very glad I went to the doctor to get them checked. Frank and I got sick over the weekend... needless to say we had a couch potato weekend *lol*... the kids are doing much better. I still think my one ear is a little worn out but oh well... just taking it easy. What else can you really do besides going to the doc and getting antibiotics probably ;).

I'm so happy about our pediatrician. He's not quick with prescribing antibiotics and I like that a lot. Henry had a light / very light: pneumonia (lungenentzuendung) and Zoe's one ear was a tiny bit infected. I tell you since I've been to the gym with the day care the kids have been out of order more than I like it! I don't think it was the best idea to start this gym thing. I actually got more out of my online pilates since the year started then I got out of the gym! And I pay a LOT less for pilates... I'm not pushing it to go back to the gym due to my health too but the kids seemed to be doing a lot better so I went to a make-up music class and the kids had a ball at My Urban Toddler playing:

Zoe's 3rd Birthday

Zoe turned 3 yesterday!!! Wow, I still remembered us going to the hospital three years ago and the week before me being soooo impatient to get her out. Her due date was a week earlier... and then I discovered how busy you can be staying at home and doing things that I didn't even know how to manage to add a baby into the mix and then there she was :). Can't believe this little girl is already three years old, it's gone by so fast. She loved all her presents and Henry did too... it was a bit of a fight sometimes for the toys *lol*... 

I blew up 60 balloons to give her the whole birthday spirit and decorated the house. The kids always love to play with balloons so it'll be an additional activity for the next few days.
Zoe's special butterfly mini cupcakes, aren't they cute? Was a bit of a crazy time decorating it because Zoe always wants to help and is in the middle of the kitchen with her coughing (she's sick again) it always drives me insane but I have her cover her mouth now *YEAH*...

Zoe's buddy Janos needed to share her birthday with her. The two were sooooo happy to see each other. We haven't seen Janos & Co. for over a month...

I made three very amazing dishes (recipe from my mother in law) everybody loved them and we had less leftover than I thought we would have. Must've been good :) :) :)

He was in food heaven yesterday *lol*... even though he couldn't 'see' what was on top of the table / counter - he pointed right to the food and signalized to us that he wants more!

This morning Zoe is watching 'German' Mickey Mouse on my laptop. It's getting crazy since I barely am able to do anything with my laptop anymore since she wants to watch German stuff on it! Well I love that she wants to watch german stuff  but I really want my laptop to myself!!!

These pics are from a few days ago... I did my pilates at home since the roads were so bad i didn't wanna go to the gym and decided for a home workout. Surprisingly the kids let me workout very well...

Finally falling out!!!

Zoe hasn't napped in a very long time and lately she also gets up way earlier than normal... I knew that eventually she'd loose the fight about staying awake but I still was very surprised when we were on the way to Music Class and the car was very quiet all of a sudden! First I didn't notice until I so enjoyed this quietness with listening to my rock music and then I took a look and couldn't believe my eyes!!!! SHE WAS SLEEPING!!! Hallelujah!!!

Today we got some snow with storms so I didn't feel like going to the gym and tackle the streets and whomever is on the streets. We had a major pile-up earlier this morning not far from here with a so called 'white-out' and many cars crashed into each other. 4 people dead (according to the news incl. 3 kids)... so sad :(...
Fortunately the kids let me workout... which was pretty nice of them :). Ok, I had some kids crawling through / under my positions but oh well... I got the workout done and that is all that matters ;).

When we're bored... we're baking :)... haha... No, actually Zoe wanted to bake cupcakes. Or better 'eat cupcakes' ;)... so we made some.

As soon as the cupcakes went into the oven, Henry was glued to the oven, waiting for them to be done! HAHAHA... hilarious!

Gym

Well... it's gotten so quiet around us... I know!!! Since I go to the gym we don't really do that much anymore. Zoe is going through a tough phase right now with not wanting to leave the house ever... doesn't like her room anymore and gets less sleep than she used to (since no napping anymore) and you can tell. So we're trying to get through this stage as good as possible and make the meltdowns as easy as possible ;). 

It's been very cold lately and all the traveling probably got the kids a little off track maybe. Henry is still his same old but much more independent, wants to walk all the time and he barely lets you hold his hands! He's playing very well alone and also with Zoe, but it's very cute to see that sometimes he just wants his space and wanders off into the play room by himself and goes through books or plays with his train set while other times he's getting into Zoe's playing (I guess that's payback for her taking him everything every earlier in life). It's a lot of fun watching these two and Henry is still eating like crazy while Zoe becomes a 'snacker'! She barely eats much anymore but snacks like crazy. Theirs clothes are getting smaller, they seemed to have made a big growth spurt lately!

Here we're just coming from the gym, on the way to music class while snacking a bagel from Tim Hortens to keep our bellies happy :) ... kids are loving it.

Mr. Henry eating!!! Today I made homemade Meatballs and Homemade pizza *YUM*... Henry was literally sitting in his high chair for an hour demanding to snack at least 4 meatballs and then he also ate a piece of pizza!!! Wonder where he leaves all this food!!!

Btw, he seems to be a left handed one :)... he holds forks and spoons with his left hand. My father in law was a left hander as well but back in the days they made him write and eat with the right hand. I think it's cool. I always loved the uniqueness of being left handed... we'll see... Zoe is def. right handed.
