airbed a la laziness

Ok... it really happened... seriously... who would've thought!!! I can't remember that I've ever had this feeling. But today I needed to clean the apartment (I'm just so busy that it needed to get it done today) and I totally wasn't in the mood for it... ME? Not in the mood for cleaning!!! A new record ;). I had to force myself to get it done... I'm impressed!!!

And then I also tried out the new airbed that we've bought. Irina and Thorsten will arrive on Saturday and so I needed to have one of those... and the coolest thing ever. It inflates itself... I didn't have to do anything except putting the plug into the outlet!!! And then I was watching the airbed inflating...

Man!!! I'm becoming LAZY!!! ;)

Here you can see the magical thing. Plug in the cable and you pull out the left side and flupps... it inflates :)...
And this airbed is very hard... I'm telling you... nothing compared to the 0815 airbeds ;)... I'm so amazed by this thing... now I wanna sleep on it ;)

too funny...

Today I brought my car into the shop for an oil change, tire rotation and new brakes in the front! Yeah... was totally optimistic that this was all that needs to be done. I told the guy what needs to be done and got it all to a cheaper price ;). 

I learned at the previous oil change, that 'Bremsscheibe' is: rotors and stupid me was talking and talking what needs to be done and I say that the 'rotators' need to be changed *lol*... I think I'm doing too much pilates here!!! Of course he corrected me and said: rotors... yaeh yaeh I said, the disc you know? ;)... 

... 2 hrs later, when I left the gym today I was cracking up thinking about WHAT I was saying instead! (Some thoughts need a little longer in my head to process)... so I was telling him that my rotators (Drehung im Hueftgelenk oder so aehnlich) need to be changed!!! I'm still laughing about that... our Pilates teacher always says that when we do our leg work... 

Ok, bad thing... sure enough they found more that needs to get fixed! So I have to go there again. My outer rod ends (Spurstangenkopf) need to be replaced... they're almost done and then I need to align the tires as well (all those stupid potholes + my crazy driving *lol*)... and brake fluid needs to get exchanged. But oh well... Safety first... it's kind of fun to have stuff done on the car... so it's getting done on Friday.

When I left the shop I heard an additional sound though... drove right back to the guys and told them about it... after a few checks they identified it. My brakes in the back need to be corrected a little... weird, they shouldn't have touched it!!! So why all of the sudden this sound? I guess they did touch them somehow weird while rotating the tires. That will be fixed on FR as well.

Tz tz tz... you have to double check everything here... 

Benton Harbor, MI

This weekend we spent in Benton Harbor, MI which is on the other side of Lake Michigan. It was supposed to be very warm (30 degrees C) but rain and Thunderstorms :(. Anyway, we had a great weekend and drove all the way up to Holland, MI along the coast on Saturday. Here some nice pics we took on the way when it wasn't raining ;) 


Since the weather was nice some hours in between we could take a shot of this cool old car :)
Spring is here... YEAH. The colors of the spring were amazing... I'm glad spring is finally here. It was a long winter and all of us are ready for the summer!!!





So now I am gonna be home for a week or so... next weekend Irina and Thorsten are going to fly in on Saturday afternoon. I'm planning on baking the pyramid (a russian recipe) and I think on Sunday we'll go downtown and do some sight seeing. So I'll be ready for another post with many pictures :).

When I flew back home from DET I had this wonderful sunset... other than that I don't really have any pics.

A walk through the neighborhood

Here a few pictures I took from the neighborhood while going on a nice walk. 
The pool from our apartment complex has already water in it :). Can't wait for the sun to come out and spend relaxing hours on the pool while getting burned *lol*... I'm gonna watch out... I promise.

This weekend we had very nice weather (around 20 degrees Celcius). We discovered a very good icecream shop in the area (Oberweis). And Saturday night we had a GERMAN dinner in the restaurant 'Schnitzelplatz'. There was a wedding going on and a full house as normal on the weekends. Yeah, people know where to get the good food :).

Next week I'm gonna fly out on a business trip again. Just touched down from vacation and back in the air again after only one week at home ;). This time I'm gonna visit the Detroit branch for a few days.

Sandra's parents from good old Germany are in town to check out the new baby girl: Ravyn.Steph loves her new role as 'Aunt' ;)
She's so tiny compared to Sophia now... I guess they grow pretty fast!!! 
Only in town for 3 days and totally back in life ;). Had already my first pilates class again... I could tell that I haven't done any pilates in 2 weeks!!! But it's not bad, I kept most of the muscles ;).

And another baby girl was born. But I'm gonna do another post once I've gotten some pictures ;). Nikola gave birth to a baby girl named: Anabell on April, 15th. Now Lucas is a big brother I bet he enjoys that a lot.

Last Meal and back home

The last meal that I had in Germany was: GYROS... Das war LECKERSunrise on the way from BRE to FRA, that was sooo cool

The sun was bright and red... unfortunately not very good visible on the picture. 
I arrived save and sound back home in CHI and look forward to my next weekend already *g*... now I'm gonna get the apartment and ready enjoy the rest of the free day...

Last Day

This is my last day for now here in Germany. Since I have seen Marina only for a dinner with the colleagues we met today again for some more talking :)

Happy Easter

Happy Easter to Everyone! :) This morning Meike and Swantje colored our breakfast eggs ;)... luckily looking for easter eggs only Ava had to do ;)... we're too old for that.Sita is back from her trip to Berlin *yeah* ;)... she was very tired though must've been a very cool trip

German Breakfast

MMmhhh, how delicious, a German breakfast table with everything that the heart needs ;) Oh, today I had an appointment at the hairstylist. How cool... it turned out pretty good for my taste :)
The styling to the 'no curls' style took longer than the actual cut *lol*... my hair is like me ;) hard time to control if you're lucky and succeed!!! *lol*
Taking a quick sunbath before I'm gonna head out to my next appointment:
Dad was changing the swing into new ones since Ava and Mila like to use it ;). When he was done putting on the new ones he asked me if it's leveled out... wait a second... I came up there with my Iphone and put on the function 'leveling out' and we leveled it out the right way *lol*... my dad was just shaking his head and said: My daughter!!!
Hihi... yeah... he can't deny that! I was amazed that he hasn't had his Itouch already at hand and leveled it out himself (he has the same function on it).

I did it!!!

Since the weather was so nice my dad and I went on a Harley ride. It was AWESOME. Sure enough we stopped in an ice cream parlor ;) and watched the passing motor bikes... coolA smile for the camera

After the ride... i needed to do it!!! Get over it ;)... I had no problems at all riding my Harley but I never got back on my Dad's Harley again after I've lost control in a curve the second time. Today was the chance to get over the fear and I made it! Getting ready to ride...

I'm BACK on the road :)Man, that was so awesome. It was a much easier riding than it was with my Sportster... now I could tell! It was a cool cruise, the curves were getting better and better each time! I think I'm just 'thinking' too much. Half way through the last curve I noticed the thinking and just turned it off and right away no biggie... crazy brain!!!
