My little Germans. ;)

We got it done ;)... Let me list it: 1 german birth certificate (zoe's is already in Berlin), 3 german passports, 1 family name announcement, 1 german marriage certification!!! 6 applications done at the german consulate today, only took us 2 hrs in the consulate incl. waiting time ;)... Super exciting!
Last night we stayed in a hotel downtown which was pretty cool. Wish we could've had more time to enjoy the city more. It was a great weekend overall...
This morning Zoe enjoyed her breakfast on the 'couch' ;)... Henry and I went to the buffet enjoyed a nice breakfast while frank and Zoe slept a little longer. So i got them some coffee and oatmeal back upstairs ;)

Henry is chillen and trying to watch TV *lol*

Chicago

We're having a great time here. Coworkers were amazed by these two goud behaved mini versions of ours ;)... Zoe made friends quickly and brabbeled herself into their hearts and Henry just smiled with his blue eyes and let the ladies' hearts melt!!! Already!!!! ;)

Hugging his elk

Last night Frank and I went to the company outing on a ship with dinner and dance with chicago skyline visible at all times! It was sooo beautiful and fun. Steph and Marty watched our little ones which went smoothly and they had a good time as well.

today we're having breakfast with the rest of the gang and then we'll head downtown in the afternoon and enjoy downtown chicago with the kids for the rest of the day and then the german consulate in the morning.

Preparation for Date Night

... and i'm exhausted!!! From pumping most feedings and giving Henry frozen breastmilk to be able to bring 4 bottles of fresh breastmilk with me to Chicago so Frank and I can go to our company party without kids on Saturday night!!! Henry was fuzzy probably due to all this workaround and i'm just exhausted!!! So much work with all this sterilizing/ pumping/ packing!!! Anybody who prefers pumping or formula is crazy in my eyes! I love my boobies *lol*... soooooo easy and always available, right temperature, no sterilizing/ preparing... Totally my thing ;).
We had a blast today with Janos, he was so cool coming home with us and even when his parents came to pick him up he told them to take off the jackets to stay a little longer :). Here some pics... I also did a video but not in the mood to upload it now. Will bring henry to bed now, zoe is already sleeping... Then some minor packing and hello bed for me too!!! Tomorrow after the kids get up we'll hit the road to Chicago. Frank flew in today but will drive home with us.

Henry was happy when he could see what was going on... He would've loved to play with them :)

becoming a big girl

After back and forth and what are we going to do with the kids room this or that way... no matter what... Zoe has to grow up eventually and get our of her crib... we can't keep her in there too long closed in. So today I just started to remove the one side of her crib and make it possible for her to leave the crib any time she wants. Many times I hear that parents had to remove it because the kids would climb out of it and fall out of it... I don't want to reach that stage so we do it now... it was a little challenging but as you can see... I succeeded this nap... I'm very excited how bed time goes since Frank is always bringing her to bed, she probably tests him too. She knows way too well that with me there is a certain point she can't go any further. I'm soo happy that I succeeded, it's better than a raise in your job *lol*... well it kind of is comparable I guess *lol*.

So now it's time to go and visit our friends Silke and Janos, they're FINALLY back from Germany *YEAH*... I'm super excited to go and see them... Henry is already ready to go but since Zoe just fell out 30 min ago I kind of don't like to wake her up... I'll check on her and see if I can get her to wake up without problems... ;)

Raven's Lost

Yesterday were the last play offs until the superbowl and Frank's team, the Baltimore Ravens made it this far but lost it yesterday due to a stupid missed field goal!!! They could've won it... so I dressed the muchkins in their Raven's Outfit to wish them luck ;). It was actually pretty awesome since I went with the kids to a indoor play park and could easily identify Zoe with her deep purple shirt :)

Oh My! It's still hard to believe that we have two beautiful healthy kids that are sooo happy... Did I tell you that the chances are pretty good that Henry's eyes stay blue? We have a brown eyed girl and a blue eyed boy!!! :)

Sockgloves!

She found a way how to not run around barefoot and still go with her sockglove-trend!!! Her brothers' sock work just fine ;)... Poor guy, he barely can keep his socks on nowadays!

Yeah!

Silent Reader on a Silent Morning :)

Good Morning :)... this is the best medicine to get up early and enjoying a nice shower, a hot cup of coffee and some breakfast all by myself while all my cuties are still in bed sleeping away :). If you're a mom, try it out... it gives you some peace of mind and stuff done you just don't have time to during the day. Actually when I get up just in time to get myself ready and the kids are already ready to go I'm not functioning right...
So yesterday in my 'free time' while the kids were sleeping I was getting all the paperwork done for the german consulate that we go to in a week... our little ones are getting their german birth certificate, german passports and I have to finally get my name changed in Germany from my maiden name to my married name and I have to say... that step is hard! Here in the USA nobody uses your last name really but when you're in Germany you're always talked to as: Mrs. 'last name'... this is going to be a disaster!!! I was trying to convince Frank to use his name here in the USA and my name in Germany :).. but he wasn't going for it plus it would complicate all the paperwork anyways... and I don't want to have any complications immigrating and stuff. So I will be a little sad to let go of my maiden name for good BUT, it's still in all the documents anyways :).
I was thinking about my silence reader this morning... I was eager to write a few lines for them because it kind of touched me that there are people out there that I don't know at all that like following our life. When I still had time to read other people's blog I was doing that too and just yesterday I was googling 'us naturalization certificate' because I wasn't sure if Zoe and Henry need it and I got guided to a blog of a girl also with a mixed relationship (foreign/ US citizen)... it's always such an adventure... of course it's more adventures when you come over with a K-1 Visa and not like me living here already and then get married. But nevertheless, our lives are all very adventures and I LOVE IT... it's kind of fun to have the different cultures in one family... or me not understanding every single word when people come up with these out of the blue new words *lol*... I guess I'm used to Frank's vocabulary after all these years but when I meet other people I haven't seen for a while, there is always the question 'What does that mean'? And I'm proud of it. I'm super excited about the little ones to get their german passport... the woman from the consulate calling me was probably thinking how weird I must be since they are already German and I'm so excited about getting it all formalized... but it's always nicer to see it on paper :). The world is open for them and specially in this economy right now the more options you have the better it is :). I'm very happy about it.
I totally got off track again! Back to my silence reader and my Facebook... when I told Frank that I want to delete my Facebook account he told me to really think about it if I really wanna do it! Well... he had to admit that I'm always best informed about what's going on with in his family but I also talk to my mother in law on a regular basis :)... FB is kind of cool... I would miss it terribly... I just found my cousin Henning, he signed on just now and I was looking for him earlier... it was sooo cool finding him and getting in touch again since it's a little piece of family from my side which we don't have much anyways... we're now starting to grow our 'family' again so our kids will have lots of real cousins :). We only had cousins that were kids from my mom's or dad's cousin's... but they counted as our real cousins :). So I might postphone my idea about deleting FB and making my blog secure.
We have such a great life and seeing our kids interact with each other and what kind of people they become you can tell that we have a very special thing going and that makes me sooo happy inside and proud to be a part of our little family. It just all comes together wonderfully :).
Yesterday we got a lot of snow but that didn't stop me to go to a birthday party with our little ones :). Marilyn was celebrating Nicolas' 2nd birthday and she did such a great job! She started planning 2 months ago and now I have a bad feeling about not having planned anything really besides ordering the birthday cake for Zoe's 2nd birthday that is in 2 weeks!!!! Well... I'm too busy and I'll go with the flow and start getting it all together when we're back from Chicago ;). If the Raven's win today (Playoffs from the Football stuff here - Superbowl) then I get Frank into driving to Baltimore right after Zoe's birthday party and right before my friend Bjoern comes to town :)... it's gonna be BUSY for us but I'm all up for it... next weekend we'll drive to Chicago. It's gonna be FUN.
Here some pics from our birthday trip yesterday:

My cool phone as a camera in the front, Zoe loves playing with it... little goof

Henry was just chillen out... I tell you, these kids are AMAZING!!! Sometimes I have to pinch myself if this is not a dream?! Zoe enjoyed playing around while Henry was just good as can be... and he starts to sleep longer and longer stretches! I mean... seriously? AND... I just discovered last night that two of Zoe's last bottom molars (Backenzaehne) are out!!!! I didn't even notice one bit in her not sleeping well or being in pain or whatnot!

Zoe unwrapping the 'give away' treats. It was funny, when the cake was cut way too late... I was dying to eat it and it was cut almost at the end of the party :(. Zoe grabbed one of the little sweet treats from the table and was standing there totally guilty, knowing she did something she wasn't supposed to do! She was treasuring this little treat in her hands, looking up to Nicolas' dad like: 'Look, I got this little treat that I'm not suppose to eat but I got it anyways and I might eat it soon if you're not taking it away from me...'... I was just cracking up... she's full of fun, of course she had to give it up because we still don't encourage her to eat sweets with sugar in it. It hit me the other day that she's almost 2 and she hasn't been introduced to sugar... but hey... the longer I can get her away from sugar the better... and she brushes her teeth very good as well so we're all in for good teeth in our kids :). And who needs sugar anyways? ;)
Ok, my little ones are both up... Henry is patiently waiting for me to be done typing ;)... Zoe is playing in her crib waiting for me to get her. They're just great!!! I wish you all a very wonderful sunday. I know we'll have one... and YES family, I'll dress Zoe in her Raven's outfit today ;)... so if they'll win, we'll see you on superbowl sunday in Baltimore ;)

more private

I think I'm going to become more private or at least don't make my life so public... it just hit me out of nowhere that I want to delete my Facebook account and then I should also restrict the access to my blog since that is more open that FB anyways... so if you'd like to get access to my Blog, please send me a short email with your mail address you wish to sign in with so I have you on my list and can grant you access...
I think I'll be a little sad not to have Facebook since it allows me to keep in contact with so many friends but on the other hand I'm constantly on the phone checking what's going on and I hate it so much when other people are on the phone all the time... when I'm out and about with the kids I don't care at all what's going on in the world and just enjoy my time with them... so I want to make my family my priority and enjoy them more than I already do and not be on the phone constantly... let's see how I'll make out *lol*...  I'll give it a week for you to send me your email address and when I find time I'll get it secured.

Goofing around

Some pics from playing around :)... Henry seems to be a complete mommy's boy. I went to pilates yesterday and as soon as i left the house he senses it and wasn't happy at all :(... Next SAT we're going to a company party ( our first date night since henry's birth) and i'm just so afraid that henry won't be ok :(... I know he'll be in good hands but apparently he doesn't care even if his daddy is taking care of him, he wants me!!! Wish me luck that he'll be fine! In the 30th we're having an appointment at the german consulate in chicago and we'll get my name updated to my married name so i'll have one name in every country ;)... And we get the kids' german birth certificates and german passports as well!!! I'm sooooo super excited :)

And today my dear friend Silke with son Janos finally come back home from their trip to germany!!! This was a LONG month without them here in Michigan! I'm thrilled!!! I'm going to get some balloons in german flag colors and american flag colors and place then at their house :)... It's gonna be awesome. I talked to her husband yesteday night and he's sooo happy for their arrival as well... He was cooking all night and will today, sooo cute :).

Full of creativity

So first this morning Zoe got up but Henry was still sleeping... When she realized that the monitor is for Henry she went upstairs (telling me to follow her which I didn't do) and found him in his crib, brabbeling in the monitor listener and shut it off... Then came out of the bedroom calling 'mommy' ... And more... She was so excited to have found her brother and of course woke him up and needed me to come to get him!!! Funny girl! Then in her naptime she discovered her new trend!!! Socks belong on the hands not feet!!! And she won't put them back on her feet either, playing with socksgloves on seems to be cool *lol*... oh it's so much fun with kids :)
