First full week in Oct

Oh my, where did the year go? Can't believe we're already heading towards middle of October and again the Fall season goes by way too fast again but on the other token, this quick season combined with less work works out for me :). I get to spend a lot of fun times with the kids and we will have our first own Halloween Party this month as well so we'll see what we come up with :).
Here some fun pics from our activities this week:
MON: Henry Ford Museum with Michael and his two sons:

Our scarecrow is standing!!! Exciting... we like it. It's funny and ridiculous looking. It lost already all its hair :( in the wind... we didn't fix it good enough so it withstands winds of course and we had some heavy winds and rain just a few days ago but oh well. We still love it :).
TUE I took the kids to the Treehouse. I really enjoy those two days a week that we have with no school and no timeline when we can just go and come back whenever we want to and not when school starts :).

WED night we took the girls to the Pumpkin Factory. One of the most amazing sunrises we got to see and we got on the last hay ride of the day :). The kids had a blast and Jenny and Ulla enjoyed their first (for Ulla and second for Jenny) hayride :)

Yesterday (THU) we met Jen at the Greenfield Village, the weather was just AMAZING and I was so excited to maybe see already a glimpse of the Halloween Decorations for todays' event

... then I found this hall loaded up with ready to carved pumpkins and I couldn't believe it. Those two had a machine that carved the pumpkins for them. Soooo cool... I need that too *lol*... they told us which ones they do and then there were lots of volunteers as well carving away pumpkins... this is so crazy... when you go there you see HOW many carved pumpkins there are and it's literally amazing. You always go through the world and every little event you go to you think it's been put together like nothing but since I planned a couple of events myself and get to ask more questions nowadays I find out so much more 'behind the scene' stuff that is REALLY interesting and opens your eyes to a whole new area. Every little execution of something small or big has an even bigger planner / operation sitting right behind it... check it out and see if you get to find out how big the organization behind it really is. You'll be amazed ;)

We got to take a train ride and they even filled up the coal this time...

Homecoming!

And we've survived our first homecoming :). That was something... not the event alone but the dress situation *lol*.
Jenny ordered her dress 3 or even 4 weeks ago online after we've measured her size out 100% sure this fits. Then about 2 weeks later we were wondering why it's not here yet, checking the status... it has been delivered in KY... in KY? What in the world... so we contacted the seller, told them it needs to be here by WED or they can go pack sand... they send out a new dress and we got a new tracking no. ... we were very carefully tracking the shipment this time and when the ETA wasn't visible on TUE yet I called the logistics company and checked status and made some noise so we can be sure it will be here by FR latest (since we still needed to get some shoes as well).
THU ist was still in KY (AGAIN) and then moving through OH and surely enough it was out for delivery on FR morning 538am so I was relieved... we'll get it in time. We were anxiously waiting for the package and when it arrived I was shocked... the package looked so small and ugly I was worried this is a disaster to arrive shortly but the dress looked stunning just too big *urgh*... we had the dress in our hands at 4pm... I called the tailor here in Belleville, ask her if she could make magic happen so it'll fit tomorrow and we're good to go. Packed up the kids, went to the tailor 5 min later got it fitted and then off shoe shopping. Once we got it all done we sure earned a ladies' night out for sure :)... eating Sushi, Jenny's favorite:
What a crazy ride. SAT was very busy with scheduled swim practice in the morning which got cancelled... kind of sucked because I got the kids ready in like 2 min in order to get Jenny to practice in time and then it was cancelled.
We had a subdivision party planned that day too so I helped out a little as well and after I got done with grocery shopping I took only Zoe to the party while Jenny got ready and the guys napped.
Zoe's first face painting :)

Look at this beautiful little girl

We took some pics from Ulla and Jenny in their homecoming outfits :)
Dropping off Jenny and her friend at the homecoming.

Today Adelheid took Ulla and Jenny horseback riding. I watched Sophia in the time being. We had a great day.

After a day full of fun we all had dinner together with a few different dishes.

Toledo Zoo and shopping

TUE morning I went to the Toledo Zoo with the kids to enjoy another great day outside however somehow it was the coldest day we had this week *lol*. All the leaves on the tree are changing color... it looks very nice but also the colder air is coming in. We still have some nice days when the sun is out it's really warm and toasty but like today it is windy and wet, rain showers throughout the day. Typical fall weather I would say ;).

And here some pics from the kids shopping!!! Henry has grown so much. He talks a lot and expresses himself. At the moment he's having a cold so I'm hoping it will pass very quick because there is this very dangerous virus going around that actually kills kids or can make them paralyzed and I'm having nightmares already!!! There are a few cases already here in Michigan but what can you do? You don't want to wrap them into a bubble and Zoe understands already to wash hands regularly but Henry is on a 'no hand washing' trip right now... hopefully we'll be fine.

When Henry gets to go into the toy aisle you can count on it that he's trying out all of the toys he likes and it could look pretty much like this when you're done shopping!!! *hahahaha*
