I finally got my cracked screen fixed. My laptop screen was basically broken for over a year now. When I first noticed it it was somewhat ok to deal with... then you're getting used to it and you're holding out soooo long until it's basically time to really get it fixed now or you eventually won't be able to view anything anymore... got it taken care of. Had to backup all my data (that part was why it took me so long but I finally took the time and moved everything over to an external hard drive)... they told me it would take 3-5 days but they ended up fixing it within a couple of hours!!! That was pretty awesome. Even for this half day I could tell how much I missed my laptop :). Me and my apple products... we're married I guess.
So you've noticed that we've gotten LOTS of snow... it was so bad outside that school was closed 4 days this week. The streets were still a sheet of ice on WED but I couldn't take it anymore and had to leave the house. With an average speed of 20 miles per hr we left the house in the morning and were back home for bedtime. Same on THU and FR, we needed to get around people and it felt sooo good :). I've never experienced a storm like this. I think this was the worst so far in my life. I was more worried about loosing power than anything else. I made sure we had enough food in the house for a week (that's my normal plan anyway) and we survived pretty good I would think.
Here some shots from our last week. On SAT I needed to get into the mall and enjoy the american shopping. I postphoned my trip to the mall three times until I actually went and enjoyed a great mall shopping... it was so great I didn't wanna go back home *lol*... after that we basically were stuck home for 3 full days (which I knew would come) so I enjoyed every moment of that little shopping trip and got a few things I wanted to get and took care of my apple visit :). Zoe and Henry enjoyed their mall cookie :)
Mall Play Time
Just the beginning...
Naptime... but Zoe would not play in the playroom...
A nice stew on these cold days was a great way of enjoying dinner. Baking Cookies to overcome boredom.
FINALLY... out of the house again. Playing at My Urban Toddler
and to the mall again :)
and meeting friends enjoying a new facility: The Jungle Gym
Zoe wanted me to take a picture of that beautiful decorated tree outside in Janos' Subdivision
WED to FR we basically were booked out from breakfast to dinner and it was so needed :)... we got to see Janos twice. Zoe and Janos were basically making us see us two days in a row (which we totally don't mind). And today we checked out a pre school / day care for the kids that we really liked. I think it's time for Zoe to go to school and explore another area than hanging out with me all day long. Henry is totally ready as well though I don't know if we start both at the same time or just one and then maybe over the summer both... we'll have to see. It's just 5 min from our house (if even...) so it's very great located. We'll see, I'll keep you posted.
