Wonderful Weekend

This weekend again proves how good and important friends are :). We had a blast this weekend hanging out with friends. Sure enough Frank needed to meet my friends and since he was here for a long weekend we met all of them at this one weekend.
Yesterday Frank and I made a 'homemade' pizza for the 'Meet the Girls Night' and it turned out to be pretty good. I just had the idea to do a homemade pizza because we used to do that when we're growing up. Everybody was preparing their own piece so everybody is getting a pizza they like and also eat ;).
So we made the dough with the bread baker machine. First I put too much water in it... the numbers were too small in the recipe book that I didn't get the amount right :(. So we threw that dough away and tried it a second time. Actually the third dough was the best (Uebung macht den Meister) and then we loaded up the pizza. Frank was shocked and worried how much I was throwing on the pizza ;).... that's the difference between homemade and pizza delivery... not just cheese and pepperoni and then you can count the pepperonis on it... no... load up the pizza with all kinds of stuff. Frank did an excellent job watching the pizza in the oven so the double whopper pizza was done and hot in all places. That was fun and very delicious. Now I have 4 additional lunches left :)...
It was really great hanging out with our friends and chat, having a good time. I'll miss that big times in DET... it's kind of sad... I made a lot of good friends in Germany and left, went to Chicago made more good friends and will leave again... I'm so glad we have the internet nowadays with all the easy communication to your friends. What would I do without it??? We're going to make sure that we'll have a good internet connection in our new place :). Has been discussed already ;)...

Hot and cold

Yesterday night we had very delicious dinner with friends. On the way to the restaurant and back you can see here our different requirements of the temperature in the car *lol*!!! Frank was very hot and needed to have it cold (68 Fahrenheit = 20 Celcius) and meanwhile I was cold and wanted it hot (82 Fahrenheit = 28 Celcius) + heated seats :). That was too funny we needed to take a picture:

Second Ultrasound

Yesterday we had our second Ultrasound and it was again amazing to see this little creature moving around looking like a baby. It was again pretty active and this time it was laying on its back all the time hands and legs into the air. You can see here the baby's head in the front and it lifts up one leg :)This time again the pics weren't that great. But watching it we had some very good shots. I was hoping that she took a picture of the one shot, but apparently she didn't. That was such a great one! This one the baby's head is to the left.
Baby is doing great, is growing as its supposed to do and has a strong heart beat. This time Frank came down to Chicago and worked from the CHI office for a day so he can come to the doc with me. That was so great. Frank says it moves like a boy ;). Sandra told me they were thinking the same with the movements of Ravyn in the belly and it turned out to be a girl. Maybe we'll find out next time what our baby will be, a girl or a boy. We'll have one more last appt. with the CHI doc on August, 20th (Baby will be 17 weeks old then) and then in Sept. we're going to look into another doc in DET.
Other than that we've put in an offer for a very nice house in Detroit. So we're waiting if we're going to get it or if we have to bid in higher. Lots of exciting stuff happens here :).

Cool Baby and tons of Congrats :)

So I have to say that our baby is pretty cool already :). The pregnancy is totally easy going... the few days of total tiredness and also the few times I felt sick (no vomiting)... absolutely no biggie. I heard from one of my coworkers that she had a bad few first months. She's due in the beginning of September and is already so big! Uiuiui...
But I have to say that the baby is very demanding when it comes to food though! Yes, that's right. It knows already how to get things... I've never been that hungry in my life, I think! And it's not that I'm just hungry! No, my stomach starts growling big times so I have no chance but to eat something otherwise I'll be another radio station in our office! *lol*
It's pretty funny though... unbelievable. So I bring all my healthy food with me to work (Tupperware boxes with fruits and vegetables + lunch). Sandra was already making fun of me that I bring a grocery store with me ;) but the baby is happy it seems.
My belly is growing, sometimes it looks bigger than other times but now I'm supposed to gain one pound a week!!! How scary! Anti Stretch Marks Body lotion is already in use :) so we'll see if that works!
It's amazing how fast news are getting spread around! I've just told a few people, actually two in the beginning. And then after I told my boss 2 weeks ago I told maybe 4 people last Thursday and now since this week from every corner I get congrats. So cute, everybody is so happy for us and apparently I have the 'pregnancy glow' ;) and smile for two *lol*... one of my coworkers bought me pregnancy books the other day which really surprised me. I was pretty touched.
Our office is very unique... I think I will miss the crowd of people but the office I'm going to work in next is pretty cool too and smaller (CHI is 4 times bigger I think), so it has another touch to it. Plus I heard the Branch manager is incredible sexy *hihi*.
Ok, enough here... I wanted to clean my place for the weekend. We're going to have a party going on again with the German Club Girls + Partners *YEAH*. Actually it's the 'get-to-know-Frankie-Party'. The Girls were asking to meet him for soooo long already... now they finally get the chance to meet him ;).

We're going to have a baby :)

For some of you the Baby Ticker might be a big question mark in your eyes... but most of you know already via communication that happens outside this blog as well ;). And here is the answer to your big question mark... we found out on June, 23rd via pregnancy test that we're expecting a baby *happy*. We kind of figured it out already before the test that I might be pregnant or I must've had a very weird sickness *lol*... But the first month it kind of didn't show at all just that I got tired exactly at 2PM every day!!! Maybe I was just tired of my job I thought and ready for vacation...
During the 1. and 2. month I was still on my diet and did a lot of sports and I gained weight!!! I was frustrated and it didn't make any sense to me at all. Then one weekend I felt sick and my taste for coffee totally went away (ME? And no taste for coffee!!!). THAT was very weird!!! The week afterwards my body wanted me to rest only... I wasn't able to do anything at all... and then my period didn't come...
At that point we thought a pregnancy test might be a good idea. And there it was... positive :). We're going to have a baby :).
We told our families right away and enjoyed our vacation in Montana for a week. We've scheduled already a doc appointment for July, 9th so we'll get the 'proof' from a doc as well. I mean I have to go there anyways someday, right?
And they did an Ultrasound right away... it was amazing. First the baby wasn't moving at all... just to see what's inside of you... crazy! A baby... and it looked already like it. I have to admit that it was kind of confusing in the beginning what is head and what is toe... but she explained everything and then it started moving its arms and legs, so cute. So everything is on it... head, two legs and two arms :). And then it flipped around to the other side, got me all confused again and then it vanished and we needed a few seconds to get it back on the monitor. It looks soooo cute already... :).
And I was so afraid that it might be twins *lol*... I totally forgot about the whole twins thing until Frank asked me afterwards if it's only one or two :)... that was funny! Yes, it's only ONE...
Here you can see the baby and it's heart beat. Heart beat was also very good... looks like a healthy baby. I try to do my best in eating healthy and taking those prenatal vitamins since we know ;)
On the next picture the head is to the left and it looks down... you can see the spine pretty good and maybe the one arm there if you turn on your imaginations ;). The baby doesn't like to get taken pictures of it!!! We found that out already... I guess it's trying to get a pre rest before it's going to enter the world and will be the new Star of this Blog *lol*.
We have an appointment for the next Ultrasound (measurements of the baby - how it grows) on July, 24th. So exciting...
Today I told our boss about our pregnancy and she was totally thrilled and happy for us!!! My transfer to Detroit won't be a big deal and I'm going to keep my complete job and just work from the Detroit office. In a few days we're going to meet again and talk about all the details since right now she has a few crazy busy days.  That was a great start into today's day :).
It's pretty cool that I have to come to Chicago for a few days a month so I can still see my Chicago Girls every now and then.
... I guess I can start packing my stuff again *lol* at least get cartons together!!! Yeah Yeah, I'm the 'Moving Queen', I know :)

German Girls Club Meeting

It was actually pretty cool preparing a 'party' again after a while. We had soo much good food and were eating all the time until our stomachs couldn't take anything anymore. It was a great time and I really enjoyed having the girls over.
Dany, Ravyn and Sandra:
Our Smokies ;) Steph and Andrea:
Now I have so much food left... uiuiui... but all healthy stuff :) that will last me for a couple of days.

Today when I came home it totally hit me!!!

Man!!! Is there a party going on without me??? That was my thinking when I was about to enter my apartment and wanted to take off my shoes! Normally my shoes are lined up if they're out in the open. But this week I guess I wasn't doing it *lol*... that was funny!!! Needed to take a picture and post the story.
