Pumpkin Carving

Halloween is coming up and since we'll be in Chicago over that weekend we figured we carve the pumpkins now so we can enjoy them for a while before we leave. Henry's way of bringing in the pumpkin was dragging it over the carpet!!! Oh my!!!
First all the mess inside needed to be removed and then taking some of the wall off (for some pumpkin soup and quiche and pie *YUM*)

Then we got to stencil the picture...

And then the cutting...

Everybody had a blast and even Frank joined us for the first time :)... I still ended up doing most of Zoe and Henry's pumpkins but it was not as exhausting as it used to be. I guess during the years I got the routine down pretty good :)... hihihi...

Pumpkin Time

Ups, I haven't been posting for a week now I think... the time is just flying by here at our house it seems...
THU last week we went with some friends to the pumpkin patch. I only took this one picture but we had a ton of fun :).
FR I met with my friend Kimberly and our boys... they enjoyed Jungle Java a lot... Henry actually fell asleep in the car which barely happens nowadays.

MON morning I met with Michael and his youngest son Austin and we explored Greenfield Village AGAIN *lol*... yes, I love this place so much...
and the boys really enjoy it too
Halloween Decorations

We had like one afternoon when Dustin came home right after school and we took advantage of that event and went and picked our pumpkins out :). Zoe and Henry had a hard time finding THE perfect pumpkin while Dustin picked one very quickly but then changed his mind three times... it was too funny watching the three picking out their pumpkin.

That wasn't his final choice ;)...
These beautiful pumpkins were the result of the pick... I'm not that looking forward to carving them because I know I have to help the kids a lot but I'm super excited for it because they enjoy it a lot and I get to keep all the good and yummy flesh inside to make pumpkin quiche and pumpkin soup and pumpkin pie... YEAH!!!!
Henry got sick on Monday night :( since we were home bound and the house was already clean inside we went wild outside and cut down all the bushes on WED and today we trimmed the spirals... now we're ready for winter.

Fall

I guess Fall has arrived ;)... Leaves are turning color and the weather gets a bit of a chill in the air... but this week was still very nice and sunny.
On Monday we got a surprise in Greenfield Village: The Diesel Locomotive was being used instead of the steam engines... that was cool...

The 'pantry' of one of the working farms. All home made and all... pretty amazing... I just love Greenfield Village

They're getting ready for their Halloween Event. I still have to buy tickets... we just have to go ;)
And they also gave out free ice cream on Monday! Man we lucked out :)
TUE... for three hours I have all three kids in school... and what I get done in that little timeframe is pretty amazing... cleaned out the garage and got it ready for the winter... put most of our patio furniture and outdoor play stuff into the basement... and that I only did in one of the three hours :)... hihihi...
We got some delayed birthday presents from Germany which we had to test out after Henry came back home from preschool
Art Project before bedtime

Dustin got promoted from Junior Varsity to Varsity! Woohoo... On FR he already played with Varsity his first game and he shot a goal!!! The coach was pretty excited too. When I picked him up he said to me "wait until you hear the exciting news he has to tell you" but I told him, "I already know..." he was a little surprised but in the new age nowadays texting is very hip ;)... hahaha... Dustin texted me already his success hours earlier before I even picked him up so I was well aware of what happened. The coach wasn't happy... he said it's WAY cooler to TELL the news ;)... alright I guess he has a point but I'm sure Dustin was so excited he had to text the news ;).
Today we finally saw him playing in the Varsity Team as well. It was a big difference. You could totally tell that they're more advanced and have a lot more experience etc. Really good game and they kicked their competitors butts big times... 6:1 I told Dustin they could've been a little bit nicer and not beat the hell out of them *lol*... but a win is a win...

Dustin's Fanclub rooting for The Belleville Tigers ;)

After the game it was ZUMBA time for me :). Even the gym put up some cute fall decorations :). Can you see my cutest pumpkins :)

Busy Weekend - 1st Official Sleepover

Zoe and Janos wanted to do a sleepover for the longest time and on FR plans finally came true and Janos stayed the night over. We started off with a lasagne and ended the night with waffles :). It was very delicious and the kids did great. Our Neighbor Chan joined the food fun as well

Ready for bedtime
SAT morning we went to Touch the Truck. The kids had a blast

And SAT Afternoon we had our Subdivision Fall Party. It was a lot of fun but unfortunately you always see the same people. Would be nice to meet some new neighbors for a chance :). But the usual crowd is always fun to hang out with of course
Their pumpkins needed to be transported upstairs... it was hilarious with Henry and his drink (water) in his hand and lifting this big basket loaded with pumpkins upstairs...

Today (Sunday) Zoe had a swim lesson at the High School. She wasn't happy at first but when we left she was all excited and thrilled to be back next week. What a girl! She did really good... won't be long and she'll be training with the bigger kids for competition...

After we picked up Dustin from the gym we treated ourselves to a nice ice cream from Frosty Boy. It was delicious.
