Happy 4th of July for all the American Readers :). We're not doing anything special today due to us working so hard lately and when we get a chance to just chill we have to take advantage of it ;). Our neighbors granddaughter is in town so the kids are out in the yard playing with her a lot... it's a lot of fun and so easy going.
Nothing much has happened in the last couple of days. Bz was very busy due to the shorter week this week and getting everybody ready for a long weekend. Luckily the rain visited once overnight and then it surprised us last morning which was very unexpected and made us cancel treatments for that day which was sad but what can we do? Not much :(... and we don't want to treat any yards on the holidays' or weekends if we don't have to.
Yesterday it was 11 years ago that mom passed away... it's always a sad day and we took the kids out for a dinner out which we haven't done in a great while lately so it was a nice treat and we had an amazing day in the zoo. We really had a lot of fun the last couple of weeks. I think the kids are enjoying an amazing childhood if I may say that *lol*...
My father in law had a surgery done the day before yesterday to remove a mass in his bladder. Everybody was very anxious and nervous and after a couple of hrs of surgery I was eager to hear what's going on. Fortunately everything went very well and he's not in pain anymore which is such a great relief... now we just have to wait the results but to 99% they said it might be cancerous :(... on WED he's going to a follow up appt. to get the results and follow up treatment plan.
Now to the fun part... the kids enjoying their life :)...
Zoe wanted to bake a chocolate cake for her 'birthday party'... she's starting to become a big planner. Her birthday is not until February and she was a little bummed that everybody ate the cake already and it's gone already! But they had fun baking and decorating the 'Sacher Torte' :)
Coming home from a trip to the playground ready to watch the game Germany vs. USA... jokingly to this picture "One half american down already" ;)
And here the results when I turned on the soccer game!!!!!!!!! What???
Zoe's little chipmunk visiting... it's funny they're always out in the morning and when the kids are up early they get to see them. This time I took a picture and showed Zoe when she was up who had stopped by ;)
I think this was a trip to the Detroit Zoo. Our membership expired June 30th so I wanted to take the kids one last time before the end... and it was a great fun day
Henry just cracks me up... we go places and the FIRST thing he does... is eat! Every single time... it can be the playground, the zoo, the beach... you name it... shortly after arrival we need to stop and eat! Funny guy
Henry's first time on the train in the zoo. I only took Zoe once when I was pregnant with Henry and I figured what a waste of hard work since you have to break down your stroller unpack everything and 'carry' your stuff when you sit down and then afterwards you have to wait for your stroller and then load it up again... not something you wanna do with a stroller but since it was our last visit I wanted to go the extra mile for them ;).
Fishing out the coins!
And after the zoo... we went to frosty boy! Wow... these kids are getting spoiled ;)
On SAT after a fun filled birthday party in the park we went right after nap time to a 'German Picnic in the Park'. I have never heard of this 'German Park' which is not ok after living here for about 5 years!!! It was a lot of fun other than the heavy rain that came down but we just cuddled up under my huge umbrella (always in the car) and we had a cozy picnic in the rain under the umbrella and a lot of fun. Nothing is going to stop us. The kids didn't wanna leave they had so much fun. I'll def. go again next time it's going on and hope for dry weather of course :)
German dancing ;)
The day before yesterday we FINALLY went to the beach! Zoe was begging me for weeks to finally go and we did :). Some arguments in the car that I didn't drive in the right directions... but let me tell you girl... I know where to go ;)
Two happy campers... Henry of course... needed to eat again once we arrived.
and then he finally changed into his swim trunks as well and enjoyed the water too.
Proof that I was there too *lol*... finally after 2 hrs or so Zoe was leaving the water. She loved it.
Yesterday we went to the Toledo Zoo. We got our membership there this year because I just like this zoo a lot better than the Detroit zoo. And they had some pretty nice updates since last time we went (a year ago). That looks so cool the new colors
We took Jen and her daughter Grace with us as well as Adelheid and her daughter Sophia. We all were packed up in our car incl. 3 strollers... I just love my minivan :).
