Birthdays...

The weekend of Birthday Parties... yesterday afternoon the kids and I went to Austin's 1st Birthday which was more like a little play date since the party hasn't even started by the time we had to leave to be home for dinner ;)...

Today we went to Cash's 4th Birthday Party even Frank came with us to this one ;). We had a great time and I got some home grown veggies from Selena :)... YEAH

Public Safety Day

Yesterday my super yummi dinner frying in the pan before it was heading over into the crock pot to cook for 6 hrs. We had corn, green beans, fried zucchini and mashed potatoes with it. IT WAS SOOOO DELICIOUS...

While waiting for dinner to be ready I headed out with the kids to a new playground for them. It's been there forever but I never went since it's surrounded by busy streets in the heart of Belleville. Since they're older now and they listen very good when we're out and about I finally gave it a try and they loved it :). I liked it too since it has a lot more shade than other playgrounds.

This weekend we have so much stuff going on in Belleville. There is the air show with all these cool airplanes going over our house (luckily this year the very loud ones are not around due to budget cut backs so the kids won't get scared because they're flying really low over our subdivision). Then there is an oldtimer car show in Belleville going on AND the Public Safety Event which I liked the best for the kids to see... so we went right when it started and had a great time and got lots of free-bees. Tim a previous owner in our neighbor gave me his first water show of the day ;)

Another neighbor of ours was on duty turning on and off the fire pit while his buddy was trying to put it out.

Lots of road signs on display and all of the different kind of vehicles they showed with all the flash lights. The ONLY one Henry made an exciting peep was the motorcycle!!! Boy oh boy!!! ;) He's gonna ride a motorcycle sooner or later

Then we'll have a birthday party in the PM today and tomorrow morning another birthday party... busy weekend :)... time to chill now while the kids are napping.

Detroit Zoo and Feeding the Giraffes

My little man got sick too :(... so luckily I had the least amount of pain since somebody has to take care of all my little sickies. Zoe's fever broke Sunday Morning and I went to the doc with her on MON to make sure it's not Strep Throat (Scharlach) and then on TUE when Zoe finally seemed to be not contagious anymore soon... Henry started with a fever :(... his was way lower but still not good. So here I have Zoe who needed to  burn some energy and Henry who just needed to lay still... what to do???

even after Henry finished his lunch, he had to eat a plate of that new dish :)

Solution... you go on a bike ride... the one who needs to burn off energy rides herself, the Sickie is getting strolled in the trailer ;)

Today we FINALLY got out of the house... YEAH YEAH YEAH... Detroit Zoo with Friends and we had a blast

Since we went the first time this year to the Detroit Zoo, Zoe was asking to feed the giraffes... problem is, you have to be there when they open up and get the tickets... else they're sold out. Traffic is not the best at 8AM so I opt out to leave the house at a traffic friendly time and be there at 10. Today I had the chance to ask a friend who was going there as well but earlier to get the tickets for us and she JUST got the last ones for all of our kids :). It was sooo cool but won't do it again. You pay $5 per child and you basically get 2 leaves!!! *lol*... what a rip off... but I think they just try to get in money and I'm happy to pay it once but that's about it ;). They have super long tongues!!! CRAZY... and Zoe was so shy she didn't want to feed them once she was there :(... that was very sad but I did my best that she could come as close as possible to these creatures and have a great memory from it.

Mini Vacation over the weekend

We left FR and are heading home today (SUN) for our little getaway I needed :). Here we have some shots from our weekend. The kids coloring (not allowed on the floor but it was so adorable i had to take a picture)

Grand Rapids, MI. We took a nice evening stroll had a pizza and ice cream and went back to the hotel

Another father was playing baseball with his son and Frank was doing 'the backup' funny position, it looks to me he is going potty *lol*... He said that's how you stand when you play backup! Just weird *haha*. Henry wanted to play ball soo bad too!

This ice cream store had a mega long line...

So they opted out to eat ice cream from another store and Frank is sure that this ice cream gave them a bug :(. Frank started feeling very bad and Zoe developed a fever afterwards :(

Home with the Sickies, henry and i are the only ones feeling well and the other two and cuddling the bed

After taking some medicine at least they felt better and Zoe was ready to roll... At least for a while!

Once the medicine wore off she was back to sick. But she didn't want to leave the beach...

At least Henry had a super blast

Back in the hotel for some resting time for the sickies. She finally ate something again.

At night we took a stroll through Holland,MI but Zoe had to stay in the stroller since we didn't want her to move much. She only was allowed a little playground time without any running or such.

So much to our little getaway! I hope Zoe wakes up without a fever! Maybe it was just a 24hr bug and nothing more - which I really hope! It's amazing how these fever reducing medicines work you can get over the counter! Took only a couple of minutes and she was ready to get out of the room wanting to play etc. it's deceiving because she should rest but her nody shows signs of readiness!

Everybody is still sleeping and i'm just waiting for the first duty call ;). But in the meantime i enjoy this peaceful time. I'm ready to roll whenever ;). Yummi hampton inn breakfast lays in my future :)... Well if they don't wake up soon i might miss it *lol*... But oh well... Henry makes already noises... Won't take long and everybody is waking up too ;).
