Summer Days

We are having a great and very warm week this week :).
First off... school goes very well. We got it down with the morning routine and everybody is pretty much relaxed and off to a good start into the day when they get to school / work. Zoe started to really like school and actually told me yesterday that she loves school and this morning she was rushing daddy out the door so she could spend more time with her friends :). That made me so very happy... Dustin is enjoying his school and soccer time a lot too. He's out and about and meeting friends if he's not in school or on the field. Today he had a home game so the kids and I joined the fun and witnessed a 2:2 for his team. Even Henry put on his 'shorts' for Dustin (he never once wore shorts during this summer).
We are enjoying a very nice and hot week this week... we better soak up that sun before the cold winter is coming up. But I heard (through the grapevine *lol*)... that this winter is supposed to be 'mild' ... we'll see ;).

Dustin's Fan Club:

Today I got a fraud email alert :(... somebody hacked my credit card and spent some money at two stores. Fortunately they caught it right away and my card got cancelled and those two transactions got voided. However I was pretty upset that somebody would do something like that... unbelievable :(...

Also I visited my friend Jen in the hospital today in my 'kids free time' (Henry had preschool today). She just had a mass removed from her liver that was as big as a hand :(... and they had to remove the gallbladder as well (it was in the way). She is doing great and the pain meds are working fine... now she's off work for 5 weeks and can hopefully come home in a few days and recover from the surgery. It really hit me hard this time. She just had her thyroids taken out in the beginning of the year because they had cancer but everything was good afterwards... and now this mass on the liver which wasn't cancerous but nevertheless... nobody should have to go through this crazy ride if possible... I just hope that she'll have no further things popping up and she won't have to go through any more surgeries anytime soon. Never take your health for granted... enjoy every day to the fullest.

Henry's First Day of Preschool

So here we go... all kids are in school for two half days of the week and I am enjoying our house all by myself. Henry started preschool yesterday and he'll be in school TUE and THU from 9-12 only. The first day was a huge success he said somebody played with him and nobody hit him! I guess that's all good and important for an almost 4yrs old ;).
It's funny... the minute I pick up the kids from school they want to eat!!! Mommy just has the best snacks ;)

After dinner we spontaneously made some waffles. Henry always wants to help me what I bake or cook... Zoe could care less lately, she just wants to play.

Yum... the kids enjoyed it a lot

Erwin's Orchard

Yesterday, Henry and I ventured out with the german group to Erwin's Orchard while Dustin and Zoe were in school. It's very weird being out and about with only one child and it's way easier too so I really enjoy it and Henry does too :).
He was sooo looking forward to the tractor ride :)
A full wagon filled with Germans ;)

Playing in the Hay

Dustin had a soccer game at another Highschool and was home very late. He was very tired :(... today he 'only' has soccer practice after school so we can all have dinner together and then him and Frank will pickup his suit he bought on Sunday with Frank. Apparently it fits like a glove, can't wait to see it :). He's ready for Homecoming and Prom.

Lansing and a sunny Sunday

FR was a very good school day and start into the weekend :). Zoe was ok with school and happy it was the weekend and we all mastered the first week of school very good. Dustin had a game on FR afternoon so he got home late.
SAT we had to be in Lansing for Dustin's Exchange Student Seminar and we took two other girls with us on the trip so their host families could spend the time differently and boy were they appreciative... that was so cute. Families that host are just sooo friendly and warm people it seems. I really enjoyed meeting them and they were just the sweetest. So with the car all loaded up we drove up to Lansing and while the teenagers spent the time with their group the kids, Frank and I enjoyed some time in the Science museum... the kids were thrilled :)

Sunday, while Frank took care to find a suit with Dustin that he can wear at Homecoming and Prom I took the kids to Greenfield Village and meet my friend Silke. Oh it was so nice to see her and the kids. Since school started it will be hard to have our play dates with the big kids :(... so we have to meet on the weekends more now so they can see each other. It was fun and it was PACKED... they had the Oldtimer Show with all those old cars... they even had a car race with those old cars :). The kids loved it. It is just an amazing state to live in. And even though I was cold it was actually very warm in the sun and the weather is going to warm up this week as well :).

Afterwards we went back home to pick up Dustin and enjoy the best tasting donut there is! Fresh out out of the hot oil ;)... and some first of the season apple cider... yum... we were going to pick some apples too but we'll do that another time...

As soon as we got home Zoe ran outside and played with Chandler and Henry just wanted to play with his cars and Dustin :).
