Happy February

Ui... February is almost over now as well. I tell you... it always seems the year starts soooo slowly but then the months just fly by and by the end of the year you've totally forgotten to even have had the thought that the beginning of the year might just slowly go by. No way...
Ok, here some shopping pics... the kids were able to pick out two heart balloons for valentines day. They always want everything ;(...
A new dish has been introduced to the family. TACOS :)... hahaha... it's pretty fun, the kids enjoy putting their items in the tacos and addtl. to it I made potato skins (a hit)... always open for new dishes we eat soooo yummi over here :).
Zoe's first invitation to a birthday party where I didn't know the parents :)... but I got to bring Henry as well and we really enjoyed this new part of life when the kids invite their school friends.

Henry goofing around
Since Jenny got this fun looking pillow last time we went to IKEA I promised the kids they could get one next time. And I kept my promise... they both wanted the same... oh well... it was on sale this time too :)...
A little upgrade. Our exchange student Jenny left at the end of January but we'll have a new exchange student Dustin coming in Sept. We're super excited. Our family of four is perfect and we enjoy this little quiet family life but it's just so much more fun adding to the mix. The kids getting used to having 'Dustin' coming to us. This time it is with a new organization which is fun for us... we see a different type of organization this time and what we've seen so far is pretty amazing... since we have a boy this time I figured it's time to say good buy to my super fun and cute looking shower curtain I got in Chicago and update it with a more modern looking and more manly design... what do you think?
I figured this would be just perfect for our exchange students in general. I have to get used to the new look a lot! I'm not liking it as much but I totally dig the license plates of course... I'm sure Dustin will love it.
The new game here at home... playing dog... sometimes Zoe is the dog, sometimes Henry... they ask me all the time to get a puppy but nope... not in this house... or better ... not with this mom :).
Eva and I created a diaper cake for a baby shower the other day. I have to say we really hit it off :). It looks fantastic.
Story Time in our little library... crafts afterwards. They love it.
I wouldn't let her wear her bathing suit in the house so the compromise was to wear it in the bathtub... she didn't forget!
Henry chilling in front of the vent... soaking up the heat

Story Time at Barnes & Noble... and they gave them these annoying quack things... *lol*... luckily they broke after a day or so... one didn't even make it home in one piece *lol*
Our business was on TV :)... Frank and Jeff did an amazing job with the interview.
Awesome awesome :)
Day 2 of successful potty training Henry. We started on SUN all or nothing... he just didn't show any interested at all and even on Sunday he wasn't into it... but I guess he noticed this is serious now he better gets on the train now... and it works :). So far we have had one successful day followed by a day with 1-2 accidents followed by a successful day followed by one with 1-2 accidents... today successful... we're getting there. Tomorrow I have to get out of this house because i need to get out... I think we'll be fine and if anything... I'll bring lots of clothes with me... NO diapers for the little man anymore. It's so weird seeing all those diapers stacked in the car in every corner in case you need them... now looking at them and saying.. well... I won't need them anymore EVER... *sight* they grow up way too fast...
She was sooo excited to go to school. She got dressed 2 hrs prior to departure... my girl :)
A successful potty trip... reward: chocolate yogurt (chocolate pudding)... jup. Zoe is wearing a bathing suit inside the house... don't ask me... she has her own little head and imaginations... I'm wearing a fleece over my normal long-sleeve but I guess she has a heat wave going on *lol*.

Zoe's 5th Birthday

We got to celebrate Zoe's 5th Birthday already!!! She is starting to enjoying things on her own :(. She likes to go to school because Henry isn't there or she likes to go out with just me because there is no fuzz or fighting with Henry. I asked her if she doesn't like Henry anymore but that's not the case. I guess she just grows up and starts to want to do more 'without the little brother'. In Sept she's going to go to school. Here the schools are 8am to 330pm. She'll be gone all day. It's going to be a huge adjustment for me but sometimes I think I might be ready for her to do her own thing but maybe not... who knows?! I'll see but I'm happy if she's happy and she would love to her school more if we'd let her. So I'm very relieved that she likes going to school so far - great start.
On Saturday we had her birthday party with her friends and we had sooo much food left... 3 days later we're still eating leftovers and I also gave a big dish to my neighbors to take home! Oh my... I'm always making too much food but better that than not enough. I also tried something new: potato skins. Mmhh, they were delicious. None were left of those...

Adelheid and I were planning do to a big farewell party with Jenny's school friends /swim team but since she wasn't into it I didn't have the cake made that I was planning to get made for her and so Zoe ended up getting a very fancy cake this time :). She LOVED it

We've been enjoying a white winder wonderland here the last few weeks :). We're really enjoying the weather. We chose to stay in for most of the snow days just to avoid any unnecessary road craziness but the kids had a blast just going outside and roaming around in the yard

This outfit her friend Janos gave her and she LOVES it... so cute. She now dresses herself and wants to make her hair... no momma needed anytime soon I believe
Fun at the Henry Ford Museum on Monday. It felt sooo good getting out of the house finally...

Jenny's pictures from the Auto Show... Enjoy :)
