Swim Competition

WED night the last few rounds of swim competition started for the girls team... practice and competitions and all of that is over now... it'll be a very weird transition but Jenny signed up already for three different clubs she joins after school so we might be able to spend a little bit more time with her now that all the time consuming swimming comes to an end ;).
Here some pics from the wild swim competition with five different schools who qualified:
Ulla ready to start her swim:
 Ulla in action
Ulla is no. 8 on the 100 yard freestyle with best time from all of those she swam with :)... YEAH
Jenny ready to dive in. She's the one with the orange cap second to right:
Here her left elbow is pointing up....
Here the one with the arm out of the water... I'm not really good taking pics from the girls while in action but I tried ;)
no. 5 on the list she did very good time :)
And... guess what she does when she doesn't swim? Taking Selfies :)... hihihi

My little company during the swim meet:

WED morning Jenny surprised me with some flowers and a wonderful card. It's already her 'half time' milestone. End of January she already has to go back home... very sad... we really enjoy our family of 5 :)

Port Huron at Lake Huron

On TUE was election day and Jenny's school needed to be used for the polls so she and Ulla had a day off and we could adventure out all day which was great. We targeted Port Huron which is about 1.5 hrs away from us and I've never been there. I wanted to go somewhere which would be new for me too ;). So I googled a couple of landmarks we needed to see and we saw only half of what was on my list since the opening hours where more likely on the weekend due to the little traffic during the week in the off season but we still saw a lot and had a great time. THAT beach was just amazing... I could go there every day in the summer just chilling on that wonderful beach with the blue water... it was breath taking

On the other side of the river is Canada ;)
Lunch Break :)

German Monday

We met our german friends in the morning for a cold day out at the playground. We are hardcore... it was very windy and pretty cold but the sun was heating us up so nicely that we lasted 2 hrs :)

Monday Nights we have our german school where we crafted our lanterns that we took for a tiny pre-walk to check how they work. Next Monday we'll go for a walk with all of the german school members... it'll be so much fun

Goodbye Pumpkins - Hello Candy Canes

Halloween Day :)... all of a sudden it was there and Henry and I picked up the girls from school and went home eating home made waffles with lots of toppings and then somehow the dinner was ready already and the dark set in and we were waiting on the trick or treaters... The weather however totally ruined it :(. It was very windy, cold and some people actually witnessed snow slush, not sure if we got it... I was only inside opening the door for the few people who came and wanted treats.
Jenny and Ulla wanted to go trick or treating as well and put their flags on their face and went. As exchange students you should def. experience your stay to the fullest and do even the things that somebody else might think you're too old for already but we saw a couple of teenagers come to our door so they were just fine ;)
Halloween is over and here comes Christmas - literally! Today I took the kids to a flower shop where it was christmas all over the place :). After that we went to Greenfield Village and enjoyed this beautiful sunny fall day with a nice walk outside and riding on all the great things Greenfield Village has to offer :).
